Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance
Statutes & Rules: DLSS imposes much of Colorado's wage and hour and other kinds of labor statutes and labor rules, job consisting of the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards (" COMPS Order"), and the Equal Spend For Equal Work Act. Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations
Demands & Complaints for Wages: If a company owes you earnings, you can send your company a written need for payment of wages by mail, email, text message, or other electronic ways. A written need might be sent out to the company at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unpaid wages is submitted with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be discovered on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage.
Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is received and examined, a letter discussing the nature of the problem and the amounts alleged to be owed is sent out to the company. Investigations Launched by the Division (" Direct Investigations"): The Division might carry out employer-wide direct examinations of potential infractions of Colorado wage and hour law. If you want to file a private claim for unsettled earnings, you should fill out a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page. To appeal a direct examination citation or one or more Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer may submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
